well, I know I've said it a few times to some of you personally before, when I said I would NEVER make another dbz game, well I've changed my mind,and I need your help. I'm going to do a 12 man roster dbz game, the base will be based off the goku I released. I need your help in 2 things, one I'd like to know everyone's Ideal 12 man Roster, I'll make a list of choices and some of them will be transforming characters (I think one or two, not doing ALOT of them).

I'm leaving some popular people as well as ALL movie people out of the list atm, because I dont have any source material good enough (or any at all for some) to make them for this game, if someone is willing to make a quality sheet of them pm me or tell me here, I'll need evidence of your talent and I'll give you a base, and for some people even a sheet already I started to work on, as I'd like to just get straight to the coding of the characters, I have everything else basically in the bag, so this shouldnt take too long to make If I dont have to make sheets myself.


Also if you have any ideas for SMALL Full Game features I'm open to hear any, But I'm NOT adding flash battles or Beam struggles I feel they take away from the pace of a fight, and I dont like them in general =p

what does this mean for my current projects? everything I was doing before this will be on hold or discontinued to be put into the game, I know it sucks, and most of the time full games (especially for dbz) dont get finished, but I wouldnt make another one unless I was CERTAIN I could finish it, and I know for sure I can, plus I'm extremely motivated Also working on two names

either, DBK Allstars, or DB Neo also I'm not doing this with a team, but if you want to help me with sffing and air, or a sheet, I'll consider it, but keep in mind, I wanna keep this time making this game short, I wanna be able to finish by at least near the end of the 3rd quarter of the year(july,august,september,october latest hopefully!), if its coming along fast enough with everything, I'll be able to put a beta out in the beginning of summer

you may only choose 1 of the sayajins each ie if you pick vegeta cell saga you cant pick buu saga as well. I might add the ones not picked into the game when its released as an update or something.

Eso no esta definido, lo unico que se dice, es que el a va del normal a ssj3, sin ssj2 y el b va de normal a ssj3 pero sin ssj.

That's not defined, the only he tells if you wanna normal-ssj3, without ssj2(option a) or you wanna normal-ssj3, without ssj(option(b).

goku will basically be 3 different characters, all the trans ones will be, they'll just be wrapped into one character so I can make more. same works for the other pairs

ie the chibi pack, 17\18 not vegito gogeta though, they might get diff basics but the supers will be the same, I think they pretty much have the same arsenal.

I might consider a ginyu tokensentai pack where I have 3-4 ginyu force members as one member through team mode, and pallete options.

any character crossed off is no longer choosable either because its gotten 10 picks (which puts it in) or another version of itself is in. there are only 4 slots left so I'm going to reduce the picks to 4 now



just to clear it up

Goku A is Normal,ssj to ssj3 transformation Ie you start as normal, and can go ssj or ssj3 with no ssj2 trans, so its more like goku sayajin\freeza\Cell\Buu saga

while Goku B is Normal to ssj2 to ssj3 with no ssj which would be more Buu saga oriented than rounded out as goku from every saga.

Vegeta cell saga is SSJ with a USSJ trans

Gohan Boo Is SSJ with a ssj2 trans

This is my actual DREAM Roster for a full DBZ Mugen game...I have changed the roster over the years, keeping in mind how characters differ from each other, so every char is interresting on its own....I also added my ideas to such a game...you might find some of them interessting Wink

7 Heroes/ 7 Villains / 1 Boss Villain (I know that is too much but you might see why there are more than 12 chars)

PLAYABLE Heroes
- Goku SSJ (Goku A here)
- Gohan SSJ2 Young (Cell Saga)
- Piccolo
- Future Trunks Normal (With Sword)
- Gotenks Normal (there just have to be a fusion-char and gotenks has so much potential for cool attacks and differs quite well from the other sayans)
- Krilin
- C18

PLAYABLE Villains
- Radditz
- Nappa
- Freeza
- C17
- Cell
- Majin Vegeta (Vegeta Buu Saga here)
- Buu (Either SuperBuu or KidBuu...I don't really care which one since both are badass)

FINAL BOSS

To keep every char INDIVIDUAL, Original and interesting! the chars (especially the Saiyans) have to be differed design and gameplay-wise. That is one of the reasons why Gohan is from Cell Saga and not the Buu Saga.

One of the most important things in this game will be GAMEPLAY of course!

Gotenks - Funny One (Gotenks has a lot of ridiculous attacks)

Gohan has to differ from Goku as much as possible (although both use quite the same attacks)

Gameplay-Ideas:
- Every Sayan has a Rage Mode, which is shown at the Rage Bar at the Bottom.
The Rage Bar gets filled up with increasing damage of your char (the bar is filled up when you are nearly killed and you can be beated with a simple combo of your opponent. The aim of this Rage Mode is to show the Sayans ability to become stronger after a near death experience & the power enrichement of rage itself.With this Special Rage Attack you can turn a nearly loose into a victory, if you manage to pull off some decent combos after the Rage Attack)

- There is a Mode every Char has. The BeatDown Mode. When there is a heavy offence/defence switch of the chars ( attacks/blocks and counters ) (means two punches from you..one from the opponent...one from you...two from the opponent) the chars turn into a PressAsFastAsYouCan mode...so you have to press as many buttons as you can (while the two chars on the screen smash each other automatically) --> the player who presses more often punches/kicks away the other player, which gets a fixed amount of damage.

- There is a PowerBeamCounter (when you perform the KHH with Goku, your opponent has a few seconds, if he reacts fast enough to perform a PowerBeamCounter (Majin Vegeta Final Flash for Example), the two beams meet in the middle of the screen --> then the press as fast as you can start...with every press you have more than your opponent your beam goes into the direction of your opponent until 1.you win the battle by pressing 2.the short time is up and the one who is nearer to the opponent gets hurt!

-There is of course a Power Up and a Protection Aura (press X+Y for example and the Power Bar gets empty for every second using the Protection Aura)

- There is NO Flying Mode. Some Chars just fly up for special attack and Zanzoken!

When the Rage Bar is filled up the chars can perform special attacks
Goku --> SSJ3
Gohan (turning absolutely mad --> slow walk like before he kills Cell in the anime,then massive punch kick autocombo and One handed KHH)
Gotenks (SSJ3 -> Massive Ball Shoots)
Future Tunks (SSJ -> Massive Sword Combo and Blast Finish (FreezerDeath))
Vegeta (Suicide Move)
Broly (Massive Attack)
etc...

sayajins dont get upgrades from low heath, they get it from the recovery of coming back from near death. I have a exp system that works like a power level, when a character reaches a goal they get an upgrade, sayajins happen to get a 500+ power bonus if they win near death + end with a super
(after the intial time, a x amount of power level is required with the near death +super win)

If I gave anyone rage mode, it'd be gohan, and it have to be sayajin saga or freeza saga gohan, ssj2 gohan is the product of this "rage" but other than gohan, no one's really showed rage other than to go ssj. he's the only one who used it as an actual weapon to fight someone. (goku used it as stepping stone to go ssj, same with vegeta and trunks)

thanks for the input though, and as for broly being the final boss, he would sorta fit, but there's one problem, I hate him XD so he'll be out untill the game is done and released, and enough people
want him in the first add on pack.

I have taken the time to think of gameplay/design ideas that would make this game feel more a full game instead of just a compilation of chars...

- Each char should have a special intro against each other

- Emotionfaces (like Burori/Dizzy used in her very very old C18 - I think they where taken from DBZ Legends...3 faces in total?...Normal look-Attack-Hurt)

- Small Special Lifebars around this Emotionfaces (being circular surrounding the faces...the other circle is MP...the inner circle HP)

- Special Hurt States...for example...If Buu transforms a char to chocolate the chocolate bar has the design of the char that was attacked (there were some chocolate sprites of this in some dbz sprites rips but I'm not sure where I have seen them...maybe alien? ripped them from super sonic warriors or something like this)

- Special Win Poses against each char?

- If you press the enter button you can look up the command list of your char Wink

- Two alternative stances per char (that you can change in the fight if this is possible...or before the fight starts you can decide it)...one being more aggressive...higher attack damage, but also fewer defence.

- Attacks like this...made by scruffydragon team in their full game. I think that would sooo totally fit into a DBZ game (seen at 00:47 http://blip.tv/file/2460892)

of course they'll be custom hit states, and a bunch more besides turning people into chocolate.

everyone having attacks like that would cause characters to lose their uniqueness, dont worry it'll still feel dbz with the stuff that will go in.

I'm not trying to overly add in too many game mechanics, since I want the system to really shine more than anything, we'll get game specific qualities, but not alot of extra features, they just tend to distract from the actual gameplay.

Cool! But i think if have a goten normal, ssj, and ssj3 is very good. Is one of the beast characters! XD Good look withe the wip!!!

Pd. The chars of this game will be relaased separatly or is only for your game?

might do both, but not for the tag team members, and when could goten go ssj2 and ssj3? O_o

if you mean gotenks, he was ssj and ssj3, he jumped over ssj2.

he'll be in the first voting session for char updates after the game is released.
